Are you a Todo Math master? Download the latest update to Todo Math to find out!

Say, what are those little black creatures with two bright curious eyes doing in Todo Math? Could they be little monsters invading the game? Surely not! Yes they are!

Introducing the new Todo Math Monster Collection feature. Designed for children to test their math skills, we have included a discreet quiz feature that includes cute monsters for children to collect as a reward.

How does the new Monster Collection feature work?

Children practice math through guided play in both our Todo Math free choice and mission modes. Within these modes, our games include a help button feature as well as subtle feedback so that children can learn while playing. The new Monster Quiz feature strips out these scaffolds in order for children to test their math skills. The questions they are asked are slightly different so that Todo Math can determine if the child’s math practice is transferring to real mastery of early elementary math. When the child answers the quiz questions correctly, they collect a curious and delightful monster.

How do children collect those curious monsters?

Children can collect monsters in two different ways. The first way is by playing the original Mission Mode. Discreetly scattered in many of our missions are monster quizzes. When children answer 4 out of 5 questions correctly in the monster quiz, they collect a monster.

The second way to collect monsters is in the Monster Collection mode. Within the Monster Collection mode, children practice math and at the end is a quiz. When children answer 4 out of the 5 questions correctly, they collect a monster.

What if my child doesn’t answer all the quiz questions correctly?

Children who don’t answer at least 4 of the 5 quiz questions correctly don’t collect the monster. There are no limits to how many times your child can take the quiz. That way with just a little bit more practice, they will be prepared to answer all the questions correctly.

How do I know what monsters my child has collected?

When you access the Monster Collection mode you can see which monsters have been collected.

Are the monster quizzes leveled?

Yes! The monster quizzes have been leveled according to preK, kindergarten, 1st grade and 2nd grade math standards. They are color coded too! Blue monsters are preK level, green monsters are kindergarten level, yellow monsters are 1st grade level and red monsters are 2nd grade level.

Why do monster quizzes look different than the rest of Todo Math games?

In the physical world, children have opportunities to transfer their learning from one context to another. For example, a child might learn to bounce and catch a ball and transfer that skill to playing basketball. By taking the same skill and applying a different context, children have the opportunity to further develop and hone the skill. That’s what we’re hoping for the new monster collection feature. We want children to be able to transfer the math skills they are practicing in free choice and mission mode and apply them to the new monster quiz in order to further hone their skills.

So what are you waiting for? Download the latest update to Todo Math and start collecting the new monsters!
